Description and Table of Contents

Description

The authors of this book do not dwell upon the "point mass" model of a body; rather, their emphasis is on bodies of finite size. Euler's laws are used as the basis for kinetics (continued emphasis on finite-sized bodies). Notation is primarily vector with a limited amount of scalar included.

Table of Contents

Kinematics of material points or particles. Kinetics of particles and of mass centres of bodies. Kinematics of plane motion of a rigid body. Special integrals of the equations of plane motion of rigid bodies: work-energy and impulse-momentum methods. Kinematics of a rigid body in three-dimensional motion. Kinetics of a rigid body in general motion.
