内容説明

Export processing zones are areas where goods may be imported duty-free to manufacture goods for the export market. These have been in existence in India and several other developing countries for many years. This is the first work by an Indian economist to comprehensively examine the economics, policy framework and operation of these zones. Rajiv Kumar makes an in-depth examination of the economic viability of these zones, taking cost and social benefit into consideration. He also studies the factors which adversely affect the operation of these zones and suggests measures for improving their viability.
