Description

The 32nd series of Hamlyn Lectures, delivered in May 1980, addressed some of the key issues and difficulties facing the British Constitution, such as fair representation of the electorate in Parliament, the problem of entrenching a Bill of Rights and the use of the powers of the Executive and Judiciary. As this revised edition appears, it is clear that these issues are still as relevant and controversial as they were when "Constitutional Fundamentals" was first published. Recent examples of the trends then examined have now been added to the text of the original lectures, whilst their original tone and scope of argument are retained.
