内容説明
This book explains New Zealand's case for a country, a region and a world without nuclear weapons. Presented in a factual low-key way it traces the evolution in the country's security thinking from early to modern times, identifying the change in outlook from the 1950s to the 1980s that led New Zealand to become the first allied state, East or West, to renounce nuclear deterrence as a strategic policy for its national security. The book is more than a simple description of policy. Later chapters are devoted to the author's views on the direction New Zealand security policies might take in the future in the context of revolving global trends.
