Description and Table of Contents

Description

This book attempts to present, review, synthesize, and discuss the underlying theoretical concepts and different simulation, design, and sizing methodologies of active solar thermal systems presently available in solar energy literature. The main feature of the book is its comprehensive treatment of design methods. Coverage has been given to the entire spectrum of such design methods, many of which have not yet appeared in any existing book. This should permit the reader to select the one most suitable to his specific application and to his particular objective in analysing a given problem. The book is reasonably self-contained and all relevant fundamental notions are also included. Several examples throughout the book aim at imparting the necessary working confidence. A comprehensive list of meteorological data of locations throughout the world has also been compiled. The book is aimed at academic and industrial engineers and scientists working in solar energy; and graduates and final-year undergraduates taking an advanced design course on solar energy.
