内容説明

A collection of essays written from several disciplinary perspectives, focusing on cultural production in the US and in Vietnam, both during the Vietnam war and in the years that have followed. It is a study of the ways in which a whole range of media from film and television to poetry, visual art and popular music have reflected the experience of the war and shaped general perceptions of it. The book is divided into two sections: the first, written by North American and British academics, is concerned with culture and counter-culture in the US, the second: by Vietnamese writers and Americans who have lived in Vietnam, looks at the way the war has been reflected in literature, street painting, film and the changing position of women in the country.
