内容説明
The Israel Cancer Registry was founded in 1960 in order, in part, to exploit the unique possibility of studying the incidence of cancer in a population made up largely of migrants from many different parts of the world who, although united by religion, represented a wide diversity of lifestyles. This volume is the culmination of 21 years of work by the registry. It brings together material published previously by IARC in four volumes of the "Cancer Incidence in Five Continents" series, and in many articles by the staff of the Registry and by others. The data themselves have undergone thorough verification, and special efforts were made to retrieve missing or incomplete information. The final result represents the largest ever study of cancer incidence in migrant populations. The results are presented in extensive tables, so that the volume will act as a source of reference for researchers wishing to extract information about particular migrant populations and/or cancer sites. In addition, the editors provide a commentary on the results, which draws attention to some salient findings, and suggest possible explanations for them, if any are known.
