内容説明

Throughout history, healers have been regarded with a mixture of awe and respect because of their association with religion and magic. A similar response is still inspired today, due to the "magic" of medical science. Part of a series which provides profiles of a range of occupations known from the times of the earliest civilizations, this study discusses the history of the healing art and examines the many occupations, past and present, concerned with healing, including nursing, the medical and dental professions, psychiatry and veterinary science.
