Description
Marketing has become a key issue in local government. This is a guide to the effective use of marketing to improve services and efficiency. The author examines the concepts of "marketing" in local government and how they can be developed. It includes the appropriate marketing of services both to the public and within the authority; public relations and the presentation of the authority to its citizens; and the motivation of staff. The book contains examples and case studies to illustrate the problems and approaches adopted by local authorities. It is aimed at local government officers and is intended for use as a practical guide for management development courses.
