Description

Fundamentals of Space Biology provides an introduction to the key issues and areas of research in the field. It presents the conceptual framework of as well as to the technical features of space biology experiments. Moreover, since the data generated from space flight is often limited in scope due to the constraints of flight frequency and duration, data interpretation is critically examined in each chapter. Actual flight data concerning aspects such as plant growth or mammalian cell differentiation are discussed as well as more theoretical concepts of topics such as animal reproduction or life support systems. Prospects for future experimentation complement this volume.
