内容説明

This is a practical guide to the work of the juvenile court. The book provides an explanation of the practice and procedure involved in both the criminal and civil jurisdictions of the court. It includes a detailed review of care proceedings, discussing the use of expert evidence in child abuse cases, the appointment of the guardian ad litem and place of safety orders. The problems encountered in the juvenile court are dealt with fully and this edition includes an expanded body of case law, and takes into account the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, the Codes of Practice, the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985 and the Butler-Sloss Enquiry into the Cleveland child abuse cases. It should be useful to solicitors, to barristers, to Justices' Clerks, to those working in the Social Services and local authorities, and to law students.
