A study analyzing subcontracting industries triggered by an initial investment by a foreign multinational. The relationship was found to be mutually advantageous for both business partners with linkages highest in food and the automotive industries, lower in electronics and almost non-existent in clothing and pharmaceuticals. Government policies to strengthen these links are also examined.
