Description and Table of Contents

Description

A number of theories have been developed to explain gender inequality but they have focused either on the micro-level of individual interaction or on the macro-level looking at societal and institutional factors. In this bold and ambitious book Chafetz attempts to integrate these various theories into an holistic one which accounts for stability and change in inequality of gender systems at all levels of analysis.
