内容説明
The arms race, and in particular its nuclear aspect, is too often analyzed in a purely East-West context, however with signs of lessening Soviet-American tension it may increasingly be recognized that the arms race is a multidimensional phenomenon. Against this background, the International School on Disarmament and Research on Conflicts (ISODARCO) invited contributors on arms control to present a variety of perspectives to a meeting held in San Miniato, Italy. Contributors examined the arms race in international terms, the implications of American strategic defence initiative and regional aspects of the race, ranging from South America to the Far East. This volume has three sections; eight contributors focus on the general arms race; four consider the implications of the Strategic Defense Initiative; and six deal in detail with regional aspects of the arms race ranging from South America to the Far East.
