Description
A sourcebook on the role of women in the field of librarianship. The preponderance of females in librarianship as a whole does not extend proportionately to upper administrative posts. This fact has animated many writers to produce a now voluminous body of literature that describes, analyzes and proposes redresses for the problem. This work distinguishes between career development and career progression. More emphasis has been placed on retrieving government documents and dissertations in this time period, and some census material has been included.
