Description
Some 30 years ago, fishing and fish preservation activities in three villages in Kerala (India) were mechanized, with financial and technical assistance provided under the Indo-Norwegian project. Except where women benefited directly from social infrastructure facilities built into the project, they were left out of the project design. This book reports on the impact of these changes on the lives of women from fishing households and shows that they were considerably affected, both economically and demographically.
