Part of a journal reporting to the West on significant developments in Soviet physics research, this book contains papers by eminent Soviet experts and sholud be of particular interest to research scientists who do not read Russian. It contains the results of a study into the molecular structure and physical properties of the solid-state system known as non-centrosymmetric or polar Langmuir-Blodgett films. The author, who has contributed to the development of polar films, also investigates the possibility of using Stark probes to study the local electric fields in dielectric films.
