Description

The third Engineering Foundation Conference on Risk-Based Decision-making titled ""Risk Analysis and Management of Natural and Man-Made Hazards"" was held in Santa Barbara, California on November 8-13, 1987. Its proceedings papers focus on the use and application of risk analysis to the management of natural and man-made hazards. In particular, recent advances in the theory and methodology of risk assessment and management are presented and their efficacy are evaluated. Engineers, natural scientists, as well as, social and behavioural scientists share their experiences. The following aspects of risk analysis are covered: risk analysis perspectives; risk communication decision-making; environmental health hazards; and risk management strategies for natural hazards.
