Description

The steadily increasing pollution, causd by morganic and organic substances introduced by man, requires permanent global monitoring of the enrichment of potential pollutants and consequently the observation of adverse biological effects on the ecosystems. From the scientific and experimental point of view, monitoring is a very difficult task. This especially includes questions on representative sampling, sample preparation, instrumental determination and data evaluation. This book, which has emerged out of a workshop on Element Concentration Cadasters in Ecosystems, informs about the important field of environmental analytical chemistry. The contributions written by both analysts and ecologists, are prepared to produce analytical data in the future, which can be used for political decisions of environmental pollution.
