Description
This fascinating study offers a new look at the problem of suffering in Proust's famous novel. Every aspect of this theme has been studied as it meanders through the text, beginning with its lexical, grammatical and rhetorical presence to the complex nature of endured and imposed suffering in all human relationships. The author examines its presence in the structure and in the narrative, the role of the narrator in the world of suffering and finally the solution to suffering which leads us to the artistic endeavor and thus to Proust's aesthetics.
