内容説明

During the past ten years, the French financial system has been exposed to some dramatic changes. Successive programmes of nationalization and privatization have resulted in a delicate equilibrium, within which an ambitious programme of financial liberalization is now to take place. Major changes in the marketing of unit trusts and mutual funds, together with the complete removal of capital controls, are part of the financial deregulation coming into force in Europe in the 1990s. "Banking in France" presents contributions from leading economists and bankers examining the situation of the French banking sector on the eve of European financial integration. They analyze the processes of financial innovation and deregulation taking place and present an up-to-date overview of the current financial restructuring of the French economy. Like their foreign competitors, French banks are being confronted with crucial issues concerning their size, their diversification (or specialization) and their capital base. This volume offers a useful source to students and analysis of the contemporary international banking scene.
