内容説明
About 100 types of neuropeptides have been identified to date, all of which appear to have a role as neurotransmitters or neuromodulators. It is certain that neuropeptides, like amines and amino acids, play an important part in maintaining the functions of the central nervous system, and there has been increasing evidence to suggest that they are also involved in the development of various cerebral and neurological diseases and mental disorders. This volume results from the 6th Workshop on Neurotransmitters and Diseases held in Kobe on June 17th, 1989 where the participants discussed neuropeptides other than opioid peptide and tachykins, and approached subjects such as morphology, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, and clinical medicine. It reflects the very latest knowledge on the roles of neuropeptides in the brain.
