内容説明
The century between the Conquest and the middle years of the reign of Henry II witnessed the emergence of the English nation in all its essential facets: territorial, structural, social. The Conquest also brought with it the Gregorian Reform Movement within the Latin Church, and England was thus presented with a new set of rules in both secular and religious life. The profound changes occurring in the wake of the Conquest are surveyed and discussed in thesixteen papers from the 1988 Harlaxton Symposium by scholars from a variety of disciplines.
