内容説明

Multivariate calibration is one of the most valuable techniques in the growing field of chemometrics, used to enhance the use of quantitative measurement data within chemistry. Primarily a statistical technique it has been used little in the past owing to the gap which exists between statistics and chemistry. Based on the first author's experience in quantitative chemical analysis and instrument design and the second author's insight into statistical predictions, this book bridges the gap between calibration for laboratory practice and the statistical theory. It will help chemists and technologists to go beyond certain limiting traditions in chemistry concerning selectivity, and in statistics concerning hypothesis testing. Topics of importance for practical use of multivariate calibration in research, development and routine operation are covered in detail and the book is extensively referenced. The text will be of benefit to analytical and clinical chemists.
