"Longman Parctice Notes" are designed for quick reference to provide basic, practical information on mainstream legal topics. "Consumer Law" leads you through the procedures involved from establishing whether a client has a genuine case through to advising on the best method of obtaining a remedy and, where necessary, taking a case to court. Common problems that occur in contract and tort are closely examined, such as misrepresentaion, latent defects, negligence and economic loss. Consumer credit agreements and creditor's rights, how to enforce them and the procedures involved in any litigation are systematically covered, as are the defences available to suppliers with regard to consumer safety, false price indications and misleading trade descriptions.
