内容説明
This book explains modern telephone-exchange and network technology for readers of all levels. It is suitable as an introductory text. Part 1 presents the fundamentals of telephony in simple terms, and the succeeding details are developed on this foundation. At the same time, the breadth and depth of the coverage of digital switching and stored-program control in Parts II and III make it both a textbook for serious students and a reference book for experts. In Part IV the authors step back and view the network as a whole. The trend towards the use of information systems to control networks and support administrations is explained. Common-channel signalling and the CCITT No. 7 system are described and planning in a digital environment is discussed. Finally, the introduction of new services and, in particular, the integrated services digital network is considered. This part of the book will be of interest and value to network planners everywhere.
