内容説明
Literary Systematicsexplores the use of models to clarify difficult matters in literary history and criticism. Models are occasionally used in literary study, but there has been no survey of them, nor has any concerted attempt been made to show their advantages. This book draws on experience with models in philosophy, linguistics and biology, and includes some 150 illustrative graphs and charts. Most of these are so easy to follow that they can be developed with a piece of chalk on the blackboard.
