Description and Table of Contents

Description

"A piece of cake", "gone for a burton", "wizard prang", "gremlins", "oppos" and "popsies" - the slang devised by RAF air and ground personnel has entered and enriched the English language. Lexicographer, Eric Partridge, collected it and presents it in all its inventive forms in this dictionary which has been redesigned to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It was previously published in 1945. The author also wrote "Usage and Abusage" and "A Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English and Origins".
