内容説明
This book is an exploration of the nature of world political patterns and structures. It surveys the dynamics and the evolution of successive state and empire systems from the earliest times to the present day, attempting a phenomenology of global politics and exploring the moral and physical, spiritual and structural, cultural and geopolitical determinants of action which lay beneath the surface manifestations of the ways of power. Referring to political philosophers such as Thucydides and Machiavelli, as well as to the work of classical dramatists and both classical and post-classical physicists to tease out analogies, the book constructs a philosophy of history and politics.
