This practical guide to the art and practice of advocacy contains examples and anecdotes drawn from the author's personal experience. It is designed to provide the novice advocate with hints that will help him to perform successfully in the magistrate's court, the county court and the Crown Court. The topics covered range from how to conduct a successful cross-examination to the protocol relating to attire. This new edition has reflects the changes that have been made to the law since 1984. It contains a new chapter on the Crown Prosecution Service, and the rules on sentencing that were laid down by the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
