Description
The aim of this textbook is to provide students with the essential aspects of the chemistry of main group elements, including their vital functions in biological chemistry. Basic principles are stressed and used to explain some of the problems that may be encountered. A chapter has been devoted to the discussion of orbitals and their relationship to both periodic tables and aspects of bonding. The text also examines bioinorganic chemistry and solvents, exploring current research in liquid ammonia, acidic solvents, fused salts and liquid metals.
