An introduction to the major Western European international organizations established since World War II. Organizations include OECD, Council of Europe, EEC, European Coal and Steel Community, EFTA and NATO. The first two chapters give a general appreciation of international organizations and provide an historical background to international organizations in Western Europe, followed by a chapter for each major organization covering its establishment, importance, success or otherwise and contribution to the European political system.
