CAD systems are able to manipulate geometrical shapes but some would say that ``Computer-Aided Design'' is a misnomer, that current CAD systems help with drawing rather than designing. This book presents the latest research regarding the concept of intelligent CAD systems that assist designers throughout the design process, are capable of dealing with any object, and may be connected with any other information processing system (i.e. CAM).
