内容説明
Academic libraries are changing rapidly as practitioners take advantage of the opportunities offered by new technologies for generating, storing and transmitting information. Managers can deal more effectively with the challenges posed by changing circumstances if they can combine their own hands-on experience with an awareness of the principles that have been established by research. This book aims to give practitioners an expanded understanding of their daily work. Each essay in this collection examines recent research and current issues in a major topic area in the light of the following questions: what have we learned from research that will help us deal with present and future issues?; what research questions should be addressed now and what methodologies are appropriate?
