内容説明
The early middle ages in Ireland, a country nearly converted to Christianity, have often been considered a "golden age" in the development of literature, learning and art. Beginning with an appraisal of the Iron Age legacy, followed by an examination of Roman influence, Dr Edwards discusses the themes of settlement, economy and technology, the church and art. She concludes with a discussion of the impact of the Vikings and with an epilogue on the coming of the Normans.
