内容説明
The current state of endocrine research is reviewed by this work, comprising the proceedings of the XIth International Symposium on Comparative Endocrinology held in Malaga, Spain, in May 1989. It incorporates data concerned with a variety of animal species and a wide range of subtopics. It presents findings on numerous scientific disciplines from molecular biology to behaviour and chronobiology, as well as reports on studies involving virtually every endocrine organ. In keeping with current trends, the book emphasizes recent work on hormone receptors and effectors and neuroendocrinology. A number of emerging fields in endocrinology are discussed, such as the comparative physiology of eicosanoids and hormonal factors in host-parasite relationships.
