内容説明
This new multidisciplinary reference describes therapies for selected complicated clinical problems. These problems include diseases with various therapeutic options, involving several diagnoses, or requiring therapy that is complex or hazardous. Each chapter provides a section on the background of the disorder, including its diagnosis and why it is difficult to treat, management options, including drugs, diet vaccines, and therapeutic advances, management risks and issues, including drug interactions and legal and public health issues and references. This book spans the full spectrum of clinical medicine from obstetrics and gyneacology to geriatrics and covers problems that may be especially disabling (eg osteoporosis), recurrent (eg cluster headache), communicable (eg AIDS), or may transcend traditional speciality lines (eg medical care of recreational athletes). It addresses emerging medical situations that physicians may face, including management of the dialysis patient and care of transplantation patients, and emphasizes high impact problems, such as alcohol withdrawal syndromes, hypertensive crisis and breast cancer.
