内容説明
Covering the basic principles employed in air pollution meteorology, this book discusses the special concepts used in air pollution modelling. As models have to be designed to suit the case, emphasis is placed on the evaluation of the answers provided by models, and over-elaborate calculations are discouraged. Professor Scorer reviews the disaster at Chernobyl, discussing the lessons learned concerning the unpredictability of important features of the weather of the occasion. Today's problems, including photo-oxidants, the increasing acidity of ground waters, and forest damage are looked at, and the long term effect air pollution can have on climate and the stratospheric zone is discussed in detail.
