内容説明
This text covers the fundamentals of applied mechanics rigorously and thoroughly to enable students solve problems they may later meet in specialist areas such as the analysis of complex mechanisms, CAM design, robotics and spacecraft dynamics. Students are encouraged to develop a three-dimensional approach to the subject, which the authors believe will ultimately lead to a far better undertsanding. The book contains a wide variety of problems and applications to bring home what has often been thought of as an esoteric and difficult subject. Vector notation is used both as a means of presentation and as a powerful tool in the solution of complex problems. Microcomputer applications are referred to throughout, and a substantial number of exercises are included in the text. This book should be of interest to students on introductory courses in applied mechanics in universities and polytechnics.
