内容説明

The analysis of recorded speech samples as forensic evidence is becoming an important aspect of legal proceedings. This book aims to make forensic phonetics accessible to the non-phonetician, (e.g. lawyers and police) as well as to provide guidelines for phoneticians for an increasingly specialist and sophisticated methodology. The first part of the book defines the terminology and discusses the evidental value of phonetics-based comparisons of speakers. The second part comprises a selection of cases, chosen to exemplify the theoretical guidelines set out in the introduction.
