内容説明
Volume V contains the controversial experimental discovery of the thermal diffuse X-ray reflections and the temperature-independent diffuse reflections which Raman thought were due to the interactions of X-rays with optical phonons. A further set of papers deal with the theory of the dynamics of crystal lattices, which brought about a re-examination of Born's well-known lattice dynamics. Through this, the concept of singularities clearly emerged. It was then proven that Raman's simple theory was a part of the more comprehensive Born theory. Raman and Viswanathan developed a new view of the theory of elasticity, in which the symmetries of the stress and strain tensors and the number of independent elastic constants differed form the standard view. Scientists, scientific institutes, university libraries, technology institutes and libraries, government laboratories and physics research centres.
