内容説明

This volume contains the proceedings of the 22nd Poultry Science Symposium held at the West of Scotland College, Ayr on 12-15 September 1989. The symposium was organized by the United Kingdom branch of the World's Poultry Science Association and attracted 125 delegates from 20 countries. Members of the organizing committee are listed below. Topics covered in these proceedings range from general aspects of incubation in reptiles and birds to consideration of temperature, turning, water relations, respiratory gas exchange and energy budget of developing eggs. Practical aspects include incubator design, egg hygiene and egg storage. Additional papers address the nutrition of the breeding bird and embryo as well as the role of hormones in the hatching process.
