Description

"States of emergency" describes the social disorders and crises which follow a technological disaster such as Three-Mile Island in the USA. Using interview form, the author presents the experiences of people involved in handling crisis situations resulting from technological disasters. The author then shares his observations with other people involved in the crises, including a victim, a journalist, a trade unionist and an industry executive. This book, originally published in French, is the winner of both the Fritz Winter and Roberval Prizes.
