内容説明
This volume aims to provide a comprehensive review of the issues relating to language acquisition, cognition and behaviour in young children with brain dysfunction. The contributors emphasize the concept that disorders of cognition, language and behaviour co-exist in the developing child, and therefore must be assessed and treated at various levels within a multidisciplinary context. Reflecting this approach, the topics cover a wide spectrum from the influence of brain dysfunction on temperament in early infancy, to autism, language and learning disabilities, and new concepts of attention deficit disorders. An exclusive feature is a chapter on augmentative communication intervention and its relevance to many disorders. Presenting current neuro-developmental, physiological and epidemiological concepts regarding cognitive and behavioural syndromes, together with innovative therapeutic approaches, this book should be of benefit to all professionals and carers of the abnormally developing child.
