Description
Shah critically examines and reveiws the literature covering social movements in India since 1857 to the present. He highlights the theoretical issues while analysing major trends in the different movements. In addition, the author draws attention to the uneven nature of existing studies in terms of the types of movements studied and the regions covered he also suggests possible areas for future research.
