Description and Table of Contents

Description

This volume contains the texts of the plenary and contributed papers which are being presented at the Twelfth International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina from 13-17 August 1990. The remainder of the volume comprises 416 two-page summaries of the scientific papers grouped according to the following sections: Raman theory; vibrational analysis and molecular structure; non-linear Raman spectroscopy; SERS, surfaces and interfacial phenomena; inorganic materials and matrices, superconductors; the solid state, phase transitions and effects of temperature pressure; resonance Raman spectroscopy; time-resolved Raman scattering and transient species; biological systems; macromolecules and polymers; band shapes and dynamics; band intensities; industrial medical applications; FT-Raman new techniques. Among these are summaries from the 40 invited contributors whose focused talks will be presented in the topical session of biological systems, semiconductors, high T superconductors, nonlinear techniques, the solid state and Raman techniques applications.
