Description
This study considers two key problems of the walled city and possible solutions: the inflammatory situation caused by the intrusion since partition of large numbers of Hindus into areas which were once centres of Muslim imperial power and are still home to a now defensive minority; the cause and extent of decay in the walled city, which urban development has passed by, and whether revitalisation programmes can be devised which improve the lives of the inhabitants whilst preserving the cultural heritage.
