In this manual, the author aims to provide guidance on aspects of drafting an individual contract between an employer and an employee. Particular attention is given to different types of agreements showing the benefits designed to protect the company's interests and to offer security to the employee, as well as the restrictions. This edition aims to reflect recent developments, and now includes consideration of such concepts as "garden leave", "golden hellos", "golden goodbyes' and "golden parachutes". There is also a revised section on competition both during and after employment, and new precedents.
