Description and Table of Contents
Description
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), particularly among the developed countries, has gained strong momentum in the 1980s in the world economy. In this context, Japan has emerged as a sizeable FDI investor, at least on a flow bases. This volume presents the results of a joint project on foreign direct investment between the RHA and Sumitomo Life Research Institute in Japan, in the summer of 1989. The main purpose of the study is to give a comprehensive understanding of FDI between Japan and the EC in order to avoid unnecessary FDI frictions and promote further mutual understanding between the EC and Japan.
