Description and Table of Contents
Description
This work contains a compilation of and guide to demographic, economic, social and health statistics on women in the United States. The handbook contains more than 400 tables and charts. By providing one-stop access to the numerous statistics generated by government agencies, it is designed to save users hours of primary research. Users are provided with a single resource for the status of women, access to historical and current data and a direct source for ordering data. Demographic data includes births, abortions, fertility and childlessness, life expectancy, death rates and causes and population by age, sex and race. Social characteristics cover marriage and divorce, living arrangements and households, voting and political involvement and women as criminal offenders and victims.
